DAVID BERCOVICI-ARTIEDA
DIRECTOR / PRODUCER
David is an award-winning Jewish-Latino filmmaker whose career started as Television performer at the age of six in his Native Ecuador. By eight he was shooting home movies with his father’s 8mm camera… his passion has not waned.
Majoring in Film Studies, David earned a Bachelor in Fine Arts at Concordia University and a Certificate of Excellence from Vancouver Film School.
Between 1995 and 1997, he worked as cinematographer, interviewer, and Regional Production Manager for Steven Spielberg’s Survivors Of The Holocaust Visual History Foundation, documenting testimonies from Holocaust survivors now housed in the USC Shoah Foundation.
Since, he has given his talents and passion as a cinematographer on hundreds of film and TV productions working alongside some of the very best Hollywood actors, directors and producers.
Having directed multiple independent international projects over his career, David earned his studio directing cap in 2020 on the streaming feature Pearl In The Mist. Opportunity continued to knock with directing projects on both sides of the border including a handful in his beloved home of Victoria BC.
Through his production company Equinox Dream Project, David develops and produces passion projects including the short film Boulevard which was selected for the 2019 Content London’s From Short to Series Program and Think Again, a documentary about the sexual exploitation of youth, for which he received the prestigious Beyond Borders Media Award.
It is through Equinox Dream Project… and David’s dedication to telling stories of triumph of the human spirit and social justice… that The Fast Runner was born.
MICHAEL BRUCE ADAMS
WRITER / PRODUCER
Michael started screenwriting over 30 years ago, and has dedicated himself since to the study and creation of universal story structure theory and the craft of film and television production.
As a produced screenwriter and story consultant, Michael has written over 40 feature film scripts as well as numerous television pilots and bibles, short films and documentaries. Michael’s production experience includes more than 150 film and television projects as a camera assistant. Being central to the creative nucleus around the camera was invaluable to Michael’s storytelling education.
Michael also finds deep fulfillment as an educator. His two years in China as the senior writing instructor for the Shanghai Vancouver Film School and production mentor on hundreds of student films and have inspired Michael to create a working system of story structure that translates universally across cultures. Michael’s latest online and live seminar series, Story Courage, is based on that work.
JANE CHARLES
Executive Producer
Jane has spent over 25 years as a Producer, Executive Producer and Production Executive working with some of the top networks, studios and distributors in the industry including Netflix, 20th Century Fox, ABC, Lifetime A+E, MTV, NBC, Universal, and Disney.
Her film and TV projects (Sold, Fat Kid Rules the World, East of the Mountains, Rescued by Ruby), based on best-selling books, have been widely distributed and have won multiple international film festival and industry awards. Jane is currently CCO and a partner of Fezziwig Studios.

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Dan Angel, a multiple Emmy, Peabody and WGA award-winning writer and producer has been creating and supervising quality film and television production for over twenty-five years.
His broad range of experience includes an extensive background in many genres from Science Fiction and Horror to branded family entertainment in all formats. He has been responsible for some of the biggest successes in both family series and long form movies over the past three decades.

KEN SHAPKIN
PRODUCER / LINE PRODUCER
A veteran of the film and fashion industry for over 25 years, Shapkin has taken his love of film making to the next level. Trained at the New York Film Academy Ken is gaining recognition as an emerging talent as a line producer.
Ken tasks his company Kadence Productions with making films that connect human stories to the world. His debut production, Kiri and the Girl, selected as a Canada Council Arts Fund recipient and inspired by the life of Tlingit artist and powwow dancer Kiri Geen, does just that.

With practical experience across several departments, Fabiola possesses that invaluable combination of production skill and set savvy. A lifelong student of media storytelling, Fabiola notes a scholarship at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles as a launchpad moment.
A production career followed coordinating and managing projects for Paramount, Netflix, Syfy, Hallmark, Lifetime, CBC and APTN.
Fabiola’s attention to detail and passion for creating a joyful and respectful experience on all her projects speaks volumes about her professional prowess and personal conviction. She embodies the original dream; come together with friends, tell great stories, lift each other up.
LEAH WARSHAWSKI
PRODUCER / IMPACT PRODUCER
Leah Warshawski is a producer / director / impact producer with 20+ years of storytelling experience around the globe for film, television, corporations and non-profits.
Her latest award-winning documentary, Uncle Bully’s Surf School, is currently tearing up the festival circuit… a sensation that Leah is somewhat acclimatized to after the tremendous success of her full-length documentary, Big Sonia, about the life of Leah’s 97-year-old grandmother and Holocaust survivor, which has garnered 22 awards to date and been showcased in over 250 communities.
