An Israeli-Canadian Actor, Director and Teacher based in Vancouver, Canada, Carmel received her formal theatre training at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and continues to push boundaries in ground breaking works as an actor and director ever since. From the theatre to Carmel’s film and television work with directors such as Ang Lee, Peter Farrelly, Kenny Ortega and Jason Priestley and roles on Longlegs, The Good Doctor, Virgin River, You Me Her, Ghost Wars, Somewhere Between and Mistresses, Carmel expertly bridges the gap between experimentation and discipline. The industry agrees. Nominations for multiple awards and receiving a Leo Award for her role in the Lifetime movie, To Have and to Hold, confirm what we on The Fast Runner already know; Carmel is a gift.
Please don’t believe that casting Michelle to play the adult version of Frida (Young Frida is played by Michelle’s daughter Alix) was purely a sentimental choice… Michelle was cast for her craft. After training in the prestigious, Circle in The Square Theatre in New York City, Michelle performed in various off-Broadway productions before returning to her hometown, Vancouver, and starting her own theatre company called The Fox & Hounds. She was soon cast in TV shows including Dead Man’s Gun, Cold Squad, Batwoman, Firefly Lane and Virgin River. When not taking on projects herself, Michelle supports Alix’s career. She, along with her husband and Alix form an extremely active, and yet truly grounded family.

We at The Fast Runner wholeheartedly agree.
